Michelin: address industrial issues and finalize the test plan

Support for product redesign, production optimization, and lifecycle management

Michelin had developed a design of a device able to measure truck tires datas. The devices was not working, and was not industriable dor Michelin.

The device was not working correctly, and the quality was not stable on the first industrialization steps. Michelin asked support to Kickmaker to redesign the device and ensure that the production can be led with a stable quality.

Kickmaker China firstly developed a new version of the device, changing the mechanical partes, adding an RFID tag reader and updating the embeded software to ensure the device performance. The design has been updated taking into account the DFM, to ensure it will be easy to ramp up from design to mass production.

Michelin could ensure that the truck data collector device works well, with the expected features, and with a stable quality from the industrialization step to mass production.

As a technical partner, Kickmaker played a key role in the industrialization and lifecycle management of Michelin’s IoT device for truck tires.
